SuperSonic Stabilizer

SuperSonic Component Stabilizers
(stacked pair)

SuperSonic Stabilizer is a fluorocarbon and metallic composite for use on top of components to increase overall efficiency of compliant isolation feet. Not a mass-loading weight, components are stabilized similarly to resting your palm gently on top of a component, reducing upper-chassis vibration considerably. A strategic blend of ferrous and non-ferrous particles helps to weaken and disperse RFI and other electromagnetic interference.

We recommend two Stabilizers for most audio and video components. They can be stacked together or spaced separately on the component. For smaller components like some DACs, power supplies, and small CD players, one Stabilizer will do. (Additional weight can be placed on your Stabilizer if you like (e.g., lead fishing weights, decorative objects); the Stabilizer will decouple your component from the added weight while still contributing more virtual mass to the component.)

SuperSonic Stabilizer is also effective on top of amplifier transformers, on rack shelves, as a base under component feet, and other decoupling/stabilizing applications.

Dimensions (each): 2 7/8" (73mm) diameter, .5" (12.7mm) tall. Weight: 167.4 grams (5.9 oz.)

SuperSonic Component Stabilizer: $22.19 ea.
(2 or more: $20.96 ea.)

"I am pleased to report that the Stabilizers are working even better than hoped for. You might recall, from my initial inquiry concerning isolation of a newly acquired Audio Note DAC2.1x Balanced digital-to-analogue converter, that, I purchased on your advice four tenderfeet and four ebony booster blocks. These worked well, indeed, allowing the potential of the DAC to be appreciated more, but I felt the use of the Tenderfeet/booster blocks was not addressing small issues with the DAC cover; and, to address these I bought the pair of Stabilizers.

"Use of a mass to load the cover demonstrated that ‘working on’ the cover bought small but sometimes none-too-subtle changes. Mass alone was seen not to be the answer, and the description of your Stabilizers seemed to point to a solution already intimated in the use of mass to load the DAC cover. I have used the Stabilizers for a few days, now, to great effect. I have experimented with damping sheets to ‘augment’ the Stabilizers but have concluded quickly that the situation is best when the Stabilizers work alone on the cover: there would seem to be a point where ‘control’ of resonance, vibration, microphonics, whatever, in the cover is optimal, and nothing used to augment the Stabilizers suggests other than the optimum performance of the DAC, as it is presently situated, is achieved using the Stabilizers alone, with the Tenderfeet/booster blocks; anything else seems ‘over damped’."

"Just wanted to let you know the big dots, iso-cups, grungebuster and top weight have transformed my system into a sonic delight.  As soon as "she who must be obeyed" gets over it, I'll be ordering some more (may take a little while).

Norm Handwerger, Baltimore, Maryland

"For the first hour or two, I didn't think they did a thing. Perhaps that was because I didn't know what to listen for. Once I started hearing their effect, I couldn't stop noticing their effect. Depending on where these Stabilizers were placed on my CD player (using two stacked) would make dramatic differences. Some spots would start sounding overdamped, others the bass would get muddy, and still others would have little effect. It took me a while to figure out that very incremental movements of the Stabilizers would effect the sound and finding the best spot for the most recordings took a lot of time (still not sure I've got it best yet, but good enough for now). Hard to describe what it does, but it does smooth the highs and make them more palatable. Provides better image/instrument separation and everything sounds clearer. Removing them is now unthinkable; I hear a loss of refinement when I take them off so now these Stabilizers have become a necessity rather than a mere tweak. I also tried mass loading by placing a weight on top of the Stabilizers. I didn't care for that at all. Killed the dynamics and just made the overall sound unlively. I don't know how these things work, but they do. Truly amazing."

"The Stabilizers work really great; I have them on my DAC and transport. They met and exceeded my expectations. They are quite an improvement and an improvement over the grungebuster damping sheets previously used."

Michael Shover, Westminster, Colorado

The Stabilizers went on top of my DCS P8i SACD player, mass loaded with some 500 g brass weights. The mids and highs are very slightly smoother sounding. No change noted in the lower octaves, but for $40, I'm very happy with the results."

"I just got these things yesterday, and spent a few hours working with them. Initial results are quite impressive. I didn’t notice a tremendous increase in detail, but what there was, was definitely audible. What was most striking, though, was a removing of sonic 'fuzz' around vocals. My Oppo 970 is out for upgrades, so I’m using a stock Pioneer DV-563A as a stopgap. When the Stabilizers were placed atop the player, vocals became much clearer and more stable in the soundstage. Actually, I couldn’t believe the level of improvement. FWIW, I slightly preferred the two Stabilizers stacked in the center of the player, rather than placed laterally. So, basically, these things work as advertised—and, for the price, are a great deal. They’ve replaced a 25lb. bag of lead shot and two Walker lead weights."

Tim Kmetz, Bloomington, Illinois

"Adding supersonic stabilizers to the top of the cd player and amplifier refined the sound even further. The stabilizers give a ridiculous amount of value for the price."

David Aiken, Parkinson, Australia

"I'm impressed with the 2 Supersonic Stabilisers I recently bought. They made a subtle but noticeable improvement on my CDP but I finally settled on using just 1 since its top is already damped to a degree. Putting the second one on top of my DVD player in my HT system made a quite noticeable improvement."

Martin Jeeves, United Kingdom

"Very pleased so far with your tube dampers and the iso-cups/balls and stabilizers. The system definately sounds more controlled and natural. A big thanks!"
