MidFi+ Damping Instrument: low price, great value!

Delivering a surprisingly linear frequency response, MidFi+ tends to induce a subtle, gently rising bottom end, great for modest systems that are a bit lean on the bottom. A slightly more solid bass, without "bumps" or "valleys," together with increased clarity and reduced microphonics throughout the frequency spectrum results in a very pleasant and dynamic listening experience. Sandblasted Teflon ring with custom-forumulated high-temperature silicone damping pads.

Black PEEK--With C-ring made of virgin PEEK, these Damping Instruments deliver a dynamic, full-bodied sound; with natural timbre and powerful dynamics. Adds midrange/bottom end "beef" to lean or thin-sounding systems. PEEK damping instruments can help "tune" the audio system: placing them around the middle of tubes brings out a deeper, more full-bodied sound; placement nearer the top gives a lighter, more "airy" result (effect will vary from one system to another). Use with any kind of vacuum tube. For continuous use with tubes operating up to 480°.F (250°.C).

A note about price: Original prices for PEEK damping instruments were very high because the material is so expensive. Each PEEK C-ring is machined from solid billet, resulting in very high material usage and low yield. Present prices are below cost simply to recover some of the original investment in material. With the introduction of titanium UltraSonic Damping Instruments in 2007, PEEK Damping Instruments were displaced as Herbie's top-of-the-line product. Nevertheless, these are great, premium-quality damping instruments priced at tremendous value!
